In a study on why women are underrepresented in the higher levels of academe, researchers find that a) both men and women often wish to reproduce and b) women are mammals that bear live young that then must be cared for, and it’s stupid to invest lots and lots of money in someone’s brain and then refuse to invest in childcare infrastructure.
In a study on equal pay, researchers find that paying women faculty the same as men narrows the wage gap. Previously, women made $13,000 (!!) on average less than comparable men.
And finally, in a study on speed dating, researchers find that men prefer hot chicks that are less smart and ambitious than themselves, while women prefer men who are the most smart and ambitious. New York Magazine got there first in one of their “for your hating pleasure, we present annoying people!” social commentary pieces.
