Never call anyone brainless, Mr.Francisco, you have absolutely no education in physics, the thermodynamics chapter must have been missed by you.

Anyone with knowledge of thermodynamics and energy realizes that only the uneducated would believe the lies told by MDI.
Learn about a subject before you go off on someone who knows more than you, you are clueless and a fool for calling a more intelligewnt man brainless.

Dear Erick Wolff:
You have some information wrong but I wont discuss with you.
I have study all the physics and mechanical of the car and it is very possible and interesting.
The Idea of MDI is to reduce contamination by making vehicles less expensive so everyone uses in urban drive, mainly utility vehicles at a low price to buy and very low price to operate. So Tesla does not care to solve the emissions problem as you can see here no one will pay 100 K for it. So the 10 people who can buy it will not reduce emissions at all. Sorry.
The Air car will.
Telsa, Bombardier and many other car manufactures had try for the past 100 years to built an Electric car, and invested more than Billions on doing nothing so far.
MDI only 15. 5 Mill.
Ciao My brain less friend.

Yeah...I think I am going to stick to the buses. Sure, they explode every once in a while. But they can hold their own against crazy Israeli drivers, SUV's, crazy Israeli drivers in SUV's etc.

And they are an environmentally friendly choice! And they don't cost $100K.

Actually, around here they have these tiny little Smart Cars. Cute, but I don't see how you can attach a bike to them (major reason I want a car is to transport my bike places) AND they would be totally crushed by the buses and SUV's.

yeah, the getting crunched by SUVs thing is pretty worrisome. I feel like the idea of a compressed air car will always be better than the reality.

That does indeed answer my question. Thanks, Eric! Safety seems like it's a big issue -- not least because, at least in the U.S., a car that light would be comically tossed about by the ludicrous SUVs everyone else drives.

Nonetheless, I kind of want a Tesla. If I, you know, had $100,000.

Gasoline tanks are actually not under any real danger to explode, regardless of what TV and movies would have you believe. There just isn't enough oxygen for all of the fuel to ignite at once. The "best" you could hope for would probably be for the tank to rupture and result in a nice fire as the gas spills out.

There's also the issue of safety: the Tesla Roadster had to get special provisions to NOT have advanced air bags before they could sell in the US. Supposedly they were given permission because of their environmentally friendly status and the fact that Tesla is apparently already in the red from trying to get regular air bags to work. Who knows what kind of safety features OneCAT would need to add, and what that would do to its cost, weight, and performance.
