I, Miriam Goldstein, am a doctoral student at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. The Oyster’s Garter features whatever I find interesting – usually some combination of shiny new science, risque invertebrate action, and geeky sci-fi fun. For more info about me, check out my professional webpage.
The blog name comes from a series of 1920s slang we heard on the NPR show A Way With Words – the cat’s pajamas, the bee’s knees, the snake’s hips…and apparently the oyster’s garter.
The banner and favicon were designed by the talented Irradiatus of Biochemicalsoul.
